execryptor decrypting

Hi! this is my first post, so be gentle :)

 I am an programmer. I was reading at the forum for the language i use mostly [among some assembly, and learning c++] and found that some was talking about Execryptor.

 

" He also knows some crackers from here that managed to crack usual "crackme"s made with execryptor in very short time with about 3 different methods (real cracking: jumping the checks of execryptor, finding out it's api and inject the "ok" function etc), all with good results, no big efforts. And I've seen it.  "

 

So what. I decided to let one give me a crackme and not tomorrow im looking at it. Im a newbie, i dont hide that :D

I do know the simple trics that he talks about in the above quote, however im not very keen on breakpoints(i understand them) and i do belive that cracking is a difficult thing, and an art in itself!

so any of your guru's out there i dont want you to break the crackme, i just want your opinion on exe cryptor. Is it really that simple to crack? Or is it just hot air?

Execryptor working...

People beleive that "Code obfuscated by EXECryptor really becomes significantly more difficult to reverse compared to plain IA-32 code."

This isn't so tough to reverse so long as the reverser can sniff the opaque predicates or any other technique used by this software.

Execryptor

After the crackmes have been defeated, it seems that Strongbit has gone out of business. I know someone who wanted to purchase a license, but they don't respond for weeks now.

Thanks for the answers! I didnt know they were out of buisness.

Actually it was just a discussion at another forum where someone said that

the execryptor couldnt be defeated and the crackmes never had been cracked. I said that

everything can be cracked, and i was going to prove execryptor also had been.

 

Im not a good cracker but i do know that everything can be defeated, so i went here to ask you guy's if it had been. and it seems like! Thanks :)

Strongbit's Execryptor

Sure everything can be cracked and nothing exists uncrackable.

But what about Strongbit's EXEcryptor it seems to be strongest in comparision with other anti-crack protectors

They haven't gone out of business (and have just released a new version so it should be pretty obvious to see they're still around...). On the two occasions i emailed them they responded promptly (within 24 hours).

For an unbiased opinion of their software (or any other protection software): Read around the usual boards to get a general impression of the softwares protection level. Try it out yourself to see if it suits your needs. Try contacting whoever authors the software you're looking at to see what their customer service is like. Most importantly don't base your opinions on what one person or one site says. And of course remember that all software can be cracked given enough time and skill ;)
